When the time is right, beekeepers keep their eyes on beehives to extract the sweet result of their hard work - honey.

Be slow and steady
Yes, it is hard to wait for fresh honey but you have to be extremely steady unless you want aggressive bees around you. Harvesting honey from hives is not something you should rush for. You have to be patient as it sometimes takes your whole day. Take your time to figure out when is the right time or bees are safe to approach.
Location matters
Though small in size, they have the sense to figure out what you are intending to do. Opt for a location that bees cannot access easily. Better look for an enclosed area that has plenty of ventilation. Avoid harvesting honey in your kitchen or any area outside your home. Not only a safe place will keep you away from the bees’ attack but also you could clean up without a fuss.

However, before approaching their hives, be sure to look for some straggler bees. When harvesting honey, keep the light down, as straggler bees are attracted to light. When in the middle of honey extraction, you find straggler bees in your room, simply turn the lights off and open a window just a crack to allow them to escape.
After beekeeping honey extraction, don’t forget to clean up and set the wet spurs near the beehives so that the bees can clean them off.
